The ‘Trashcam Project’

The Trashcam Project, was created by a group of trash collectors in Hamburg who transformed a fleet of dumpsters into giant pinhole cameras.

They made something out of rubbish by drilling a small hole into the dumpster’s centre which acted as the camera’s lens. They then covered this with a cardboard shutter.

The make-shift cameras have captured beautiful black-and-white landscape and architecture shots from different locations across the city. More than a pile of old rubbish…

Go Put Your Records On

Today is Record Store Day. The day where independent record stores and artists come together to celebrate the art of music. I haven’t been lucky enough to join in any of the celebrations but I remember growing up listing to my mum’s vinyl’s, Ray Peterson’s, Tell Laura I Love Her inparticular, which she bought because of the name! In honour of today I’ve complied ten of my favourite songs…which was alot harder than it sounds!

10. David Guetta ft. Kelly Rowland, When Love Takes Over This particular song has two very fond memories for me, both form the summer of 2009. The first is sun drenched day’s in Ibiza when me and my bessie mace actually saw David Guetta and Kelly Rowland live in Pacha.  The second is fun filled office day’s whilst I was on placement in London. Fond memories.

9. Gossip, Standing In The Way Of Control Simply because I love Beth Ditto and wish I had even half of her talent and confidence. It was also a brilliant debut track.

8. Ian Brown, Stellify This reminds me of uni day’s at my favourite club, Warehouse.

7. Jason Derulo, Ridin’ Solo Not my usual kind of music but after being disappointed with the radio station playlist’s in Florida, this became our holiday song after a three week family holiday.

6. Example, Kickstarts This is mine and one of my best friend’s song.

5. Rihanna, Only Girl I’m a little bit obsessed with Rihanna but this is by far my favourite Ri-Ri song, mainly because I want someone to make me feel like the only girl in the world.

4. Kings Of Leon, Sex On Fire So good that I had it as my ring tone for about a year!

3. Pete Doherty, Albion If I could marry anyone in the world it would be Peter Doherty. I’m quite partial to gin in teacups too.

2. Wild Cherry, Play That Funky Music I love this song for reasons that I can’t disclose.

1. Oasis, Slide Away My all time favourite song… so let me be the one that shines with you…

I want to ride my bicycle…

Having booked my ticket’s way back in 2011, the wait for Monday night’s Bombay Bicycle Club gig felt longer than six hours on the exercise bike at the gym. But it was most certainly worth the wait!

We arrived a little too late to catch Lucy Rose doing her solo set but she amazed me when she took to the stage with the boys. In-fact, I’ve decided I want to be her with her full fringe and relaxed ’indie’ style. Pure talent. Defiantly one to watch.

The Club sounded superb live. I could have almost been listening to them on my iPod they were that flawless, but as predicted they finished their set with the crowd pleasing, Shuffle.

The gig has got me prematurely excited for the start of festival season, where you will find me front of stage for Bombay Bicycle Club at Benicassim! With three months to go I best get planning my festival wardrobe…

Easter Bunnies

So I haven’t been the best at bloging my life. Life is crazy.

Today is Easter Sunday, I’m still sat in my pj’s and haven’t eaten one chocolate egg but if photography was an Easter Egg then these would be extra large Lindt Gold Bunnies…

Happy Easter!

xoxo

Down in Albion

Oh Down in Albion
They’re black and blue
But we don’t talk about that
Are you from ’round here?
How do you do?
I’d like to talk about that…

I’m actually living in Albion but I’m not from around here.

It has always been my dream to live the ‘Landan Life’ but this year I decided to follow my heart and moved to Brighton.

I’m enjoying living by the sea and it gives me an excuse for a diet of Fish & Chips, Ice Cream and Candy Floss!!

It isn’t quite London, but Brighton is an amazing place with tones of vintage shops and a great music scene…two of the major things that complete my life, along with marshmallows and gin in tea cups.

This blog with document the life of Northern girl living in her Landan life by the sea.
